On display starting June 1st

Light is not the only way humans interact with our surroundings — it is also our window back in time.

Light is the fastest thing in the universe, traveling at 186,000 miles per second (300,000 km/s). Light travels at a fixed speed, so it needs time to go through the universe. When astronomers look deep into space, they are also looking back in time to see an earlier universe.
