Jon Royce
Jon has been volunteering for the Space Foundation, Discovery Center, and Symposium since April 2018. He support projects in both Facilities and Collections, as well as assisting with Entry Control Support at the Space Symposium. He has also volunteered at the ‘Western Museum of Mining and Industry’ as a ‘grease monkey’, keeping the steam engines on display in working order.
Jon retired from his position as Coordinator of Data and Research for the Community Education Training Department at Pueblo Community College in July of 2014. During his tenure at Pueblo Community College he sat on the President’s Cabinet and chaired the Shared Governance Advisory Council. Jon received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Arts Education in 1976 from The State University of New York, Oswego. He has his M.Ed. degree in Technology in Education from Lesley University in Cambridge Massachusetts.
Jon is a Cisco Network Associate trained and Network + certified. Jon held a Colorado State teaching license in Secondary Technology Education and a Colorado State Vocational Education credentials in Business Technology, Computer Science and Drafting CAD. He also holds a certificate in Human Resource Management.
Jon’s teaching experience includes:
Adjunct Instructor in the areas of: Technology of E-Business, Server +, and Computer Repair, and Drafting and Blueprint Reading.
High School Teacher in the areas of: Drafting, Metals, Energy and Power, Home & Car Maintenance, Electricity, Graphic Arts, and Transportation.
Beyond his work in Education, Jon has  been a business Owner of Royce Distribution and Wholesale of Cañon City, which marketed and distributed gourmet coffees; worked for the U.S. Postal Service in various positions including Supervisor of Customer Service, Labor Relations Specialist, Acting Station Manager, & Letter Carrier. Jon worked for the Department of Defense at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as an Electronics Engineering Technician designing overhaul modifications to 594 & 637 Class submarines.
In his spare time Jon enjoys: Traveling and has been to six of the seven continents. He also holds a technician class amateur radio license.
