Space Foundation to Host Yuri’s Night Fundraiser at Cheyenne Mountain Resort on April 7

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — March 13, 2024 — Space Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded in 1983, offering information, education and collaboration for the global space ecosystem, today announced Space Foundation Discovery Center will host Yuri’s Night at Cheyenne Mountain Resort on Sunday, April 7, 5:30-9:00 p.m. The annual cosmic-themed party, open to adults age 21 and older, supports Space Foundation’s science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) education programs that reach students and teachers in the Pikes Peak region and throughout the world.

Every April, Yuri’s Night parties are hosted around the world in commemoration of Yuri Gagarin becoming the first human to venture into space on April 12, 1961, and the inaugural launch of the first Space Shuttle on April 12, 1981. The event celebrates the past, present and future of space exploration while preparing the next generation to take their place within the space ecosystem.

Space Foundation’s Yuri’s Night is also a kickoff to the annual Space Symposium, to be held April 8-11 at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. With over 11,000 attendees, the event convenes leaders from around the world representing government, industry, military, intelligence, research and investment communities to discuss the most pressing global space issues.
