Space Foundation Named a 2018 Best Workplace
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Jan. 28, 2019) – The Space Foundation has been named a 2018 Best Workplace by the Colorado Springs Gazette and the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce & EDC. The organizations partnered with DataJoe LLC, a Boulder-based data collection and analysis firm, to determine the top workplaces in the Colorado Springs area.
In learning of this recognition, Space Foundation CEO, Tom Zelibor said, “We are proud and grateful to be recognized again with this honor. The Space Foundation team really does amazing work to make the world a better place, and the fact we’ve created an environment where our people can grow and succeed makes us even more impactful.”
Employees from 267 private, public, nonprofit and government organizations in the Pikes Peak region were asked to answer 26 questions about organizational health, engagement and leadership, work-life balance, training, pay, benefits and corporate social responsibility.
Employers were required to have a response rate of at least 40 percent to be recognized as a best workplace. Any employer with mostly negative responses was excluded and 78 employers were named as best workplaces.
In addition to the Best Workplace recognition, the Space Foundation has also been five times designated by The NonProfit Times and Best Companies Group as among the 50 Best Non-Profit Organizations to Work for in the United States, making the list in 2011, 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
The Space Foundation is growing rapidly and added eight new full-time positions over the past 12 months to its team of 63 employees. In 2018, the Space Foundation announced plans to expand its Discovery Center in Colorado Springs from 45,716 square feet to 131,035 square feet.
