Space Foundation Discovery Center To Host Family Star Party May 7

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — May 2, 2022 — Space Foundation, a nonprofit advocate organization founded in 1983 for the global space ecosystem, today announced that its Space Foundation Discovery Center will host a Family Star Party on Saturday, May 7, 8-10 p.m. The party will provide a fun, family-friendly environment to inspire the next generation of astronomy enthusiasts while they learn more about stars, nebulae and galaxies and what the universe looked like many years ago.

Event: Family Star Party: Looking Back in Time

Date: Saturday, May 7, 2022; 8-10 p.m.

Venue: Space Foundation Discovery Center, Colorado Springs

Admission: No fee for outdoor telescope viewing; half-price admission for Discovery Center indoor activities

Activities:

Outside (weather permitting)

  • Viewing the crescent moon
  • Gazing at Orion the Hunter
  • Viewing and learning about galaxies in Leo and Virgo

Inside

  • Exploring Deep Space presentations in the Science On a Sphere® theater
  • El Pomar Space Gallery scavenger hunt
