Tesla’s Toolbox Workshops: Water in Space

Join us as we return to Tesla’s Toolbox workshops at the Discovery Center in honor of genius engineer and inventor, Nikola Tesla 1856-1943, and energy pioneer to learn about Energy. As NASA’s search for Life stretches into the solar system, understanding the importance of water in space is of critical importance. As kids are the Astronauts of the future, the earlier they learn the importance of water – they will both be better prepared to be astronauts and better able to protect our water right here on Earth. Join us for this fun, detailed, hands-on workshop learning about water in space. (kids will not be getting wet during this workshop!)
Workshop Session #1: 11:00 a.m. – noon
Workshop Session #2: 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Workshop Demonstrations:
– Where is the water in our solar system?
– How do we get access to it to use it?
Workshop Activity:
– Build your own water filtration system
Participants will build their own working water filtration system and test it by filtering dirty water to clean. Filtration systems will go home with participants.
This event will be the MOST fun for ages 7 and up.
Parents must accompany children.
