Event Details:

Robots and robotics are playing an ever-growing part in our everyday lives – from self-driving cars to self-vacuuming rooms, from robotic order takers to robotic delivery services.

The world our kids will grow up into will be a world of collaboration between humans and the robots we create.

Join us for a workshop Nikola Tesla himself would have loved the chance to participate in as we set up stations with multiple different types of robots – from driving, to color-coding, to block coding.

Robotics Activities:

  • Human Coding – get a fundamental understanding of how computer and robotic coding works
  • Driving Code – control a robot with the code equivalent of a joystick
  • Color Code – control a robot using precisely arranged colored bands to give the robot its ‘instructions’
  • Block Code – control a robot by giving it step-by-step instructions leading it to perform tasks precisely as you have coded it to do. Block coding is the most popular and most prevalent coding used with kids. Experience with, and understanding of, block coding is fast becoming a fundamental part of kids’ basic education.
Workshops are on a first-come, first-served basis.
$5 materials fee in addition to SFDC General Admission.
This event will be the MOST fun for ages 7 and up.
Parents must accompany children.
