Join us for Tesla’s Toolbox workshops at the Discovery Center in honor of genius engineer and inventor, Nikola Tesla 1856-1943, and energy pioneer to learn about Energy. As NASA’s search for Life stretches into the solar system, understanding the importance of water in space is of critical importance. As kids are the Astronauts of the future, the earlier they learn the importance of water – they will both be better prepared to be astronauts and better able to protect our water right here on Earth.
What is Electricity?
The definition of electricity is the flow of charge BUT in today’s modern world, it means so much more than that.
Nikola Tesla, for whom Tesla’s Toolbox is named, was a genius inventor and a pioneer in the realm of electricity. He also pursued his ideas for wireless lighting and worldwide wireless electric power.

Workshop Demonstrations: Van de Graaf generator demonstrations of static electricity and it’s power
Workshop Activity:
- Working with Little Bits circuit kits, learning how to use electricity to perform tasks
- Creating your own unique electrical gizmo
Workshops are on a first-come, first-served basis.
$5 materials fee in addition to SFDC General Admission.
This event will be the MOST fun for ages 7 and up.
