Event Details:
Family Star Party provides a safe, outdoor learning environment for the whole family, connecting attendees to the wonders of the universe. Through Discovery Center’s partnership with Mobile Earth + Space Observatory, a “science center on wheels” equipped with telescopes, another dimension of fun is added to the experience.
This month, learn about how ancient cultures around the world used astronomy to tell time, as a guide for agriculture, and a way to build mythologies.
Activities:
- Look through multiple telescopes and learn about the objects in our night sky from Colorado Springs Astronomical Society outreach guides and Discovery Center educators
- Possible views of Venus, Jupiter, the crescent Moon, Mars, and Orion
- Engage with self-guided activities and Science On a Sphere® presentations in the Discovery Center
