Discovery Center Educator
Andy Rizzo joined the Discovery Center team at the end of 2022. He is a part of the team that runs the Discover the Universe field trip programs during the school year, and the Explore Space Experiences during the summer months. After studying History and Museum Management at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, he joined the team that designed and brought STEM based curriculum to the National Museum of WWII Aviation for their field trip adventures. Andy then went on to work with the Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services team at the Garden of the Gods focusing on school programs studying the geology, ecology, and history of the park. Turning his attention skyward, he is looking forward to learning and growing within the space community and continuing to be a part of the excitement that comes with school field trips.
With his free moments, Andy loves to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoys playing board games, tabletop wargaming, RPGs, and PC gaming. A massive fan of Star Wars, he is excited to see how many ways he can insert his back log of Star Wars trivia into Space Foundation programing.
