Space Foundation Again Named Among 50 Best Nonprofit Organizations to Work For
Ranked 9th for Medium-sized Organizations and 16th Overall
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 13, 2017) – For the fourth time, the Space Foundation has been designated by The NonProfit Times and Best Companies Group as among the 50 Best Nonprofit Organizations to Work For in the United States, ranking 9th among medium-sized nonprofit organizations and ranked 16th best overall.
The Space Foundation has made the Best Nonprofits to Work For list every time it has been screened, including in 2012, 2014 and 2016.
The Nonprofit Times partnered with Best Companies Group to identify nonprofit organizations that have excelled in creating quality workplaces for employees. This survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the 50 best employers in the nonprofit industry, benefiting the industry’s economy, workforce and businesses.
To be considered for participation, organizations had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
- Must be in business a minimum of one year
- Must be a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status
- Have a facility in the United States
- Have a minimum of 15 employees in the United States
Nonprofits from across the United States entered the two-part survey process to determine Best Nonprofits To Work For. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated organization’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75 percent of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top nonprofits and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data and determined the ranking.
