Small Steps, Giant Leap: STEM Adventures for Little Space Explorers has been designed by the Space Foundation to engage early learners PreK-K from all backgrounds. Developed in partnership with Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD), the lessons and activities have been designed in alignment with Colorado’s Early Childhood Care and Education Science and Reading/Writing Standards with a specific emphasis on space-inspired Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Theme: Constellations
Book: Good Night Little Astronaut by Dr. Jose Morey

About the book: “Let your child’s dreams take them out of this world and dance around the stars! Follow our little Chinese Astronomer as she discovers new planets, visits the Northern Lights, and learns about Einstein. Follow her as she is reminded she is brave, smart, adventurous and ambitious! Come along to visit the Arecibo Observatory – which the illustrations are inspired by.”

*Good Night Little Astronaut is also published in Spanish.
