Space Education Specialist

Aaron Bailey is an educator with a background in Astronomy and Physics and writes lessons and designs interactive STEM curricula for many Space Foundation programs. He joined the team in September of 2021. He is responsible for the Family Star Party and is an active member of the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society (CSASTRO). He began the Discovery Center Astronomy Club to bring together STEAM-loving teens to discuss astronomy and space science. 

Aaron began his science education and outreach career as a member of his high school astronomy club, where he learned to give guided star parties to the public in an observatory dome. He studied astronomy, physics, mathematics, and French at the University of Wisconsin: Madison and worked as an undergraduate research assistant to a stellar physics research group.

Outside of work, Aaron loves to learn about sustainability, ecology, climate change solutions, as well as science advocacy. He is a fan of science fiction and fantasy and is an avid D&D player. Having grown up in Wisconsin, Aaron fell in love with the mountains as a teenager and is happy to be living at the doorstep of the Rocky Mountains.
