Join Space Foundation Discovery Center Feb. 12 for Family Star Party

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Feb. 10, 2022 — Space Foundation, a nonprofit advocate organization founded in 1983 for the global space ecosystem, today announced that its Space Foundation Discovery Center will host a Family Star Party this Saturday, Feb. 12, 6-8 p.m. The event will provide a family-friendly way to view and learn about the Messier Catalogue — a list of 110 astronomical objects cataloged by French astronomer Charles Messier.

Venue: Space Foundation Discovery Center, Colorado Springs

Admission: No fee for outdoor telescope viewing; half-price admission for Discovery Center indoor activities

Enjoying the Mobile Earth + Space Observatory (MESO) and its 12″ telescope

El Pomar Space Gallery scavenger hunt

This event creates a fun learning environment to inspire the next generation of astronomy enthusiasts. MESO is a “science center on wheels,” allowing the public to experience authentic science firsthand and engaging young people with STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) topics.
